I'm training hard and appropriately following Norna's briefing about the Cross and its social aspects. I'm delighted to have the chance to take part (apart from the pain and discomfort) as its THE place to be for sporting Highlanders.
Nice to have the chance to help raise dosh for such worhwhile charities too.
Both mine and Jan's families' have been touched by cancer and Jan is a palliative care nurse working at the Highland Hospice as well as helping out at Maggie's.
Cheers, more carbo loading next.

Wary of the wrath of skipper Norna I've been training in some nice places while out on the road for SNH. Wednesday lunchtime - 3 mile run with the Slugs in Inverness, train to Edinburgh, run/walk around Carlton Hill & Arthur's Seat. Thursday - train to Perth - 5 mile run up and around lovely Kinnoul Hill. Just a pity about all the excess carbos afterwards.
I rode an easy 36 miles back from Struie Hill on Sunday. Tail breeze and few hills. Monday I ran/walked into work and ditto home. Only about 6 miles in total but I plan to extend the route. All the bounce has gone from my ageing achilles so my 20 miles on foot is going to be a challenge on the day. Jan's working at the Hospice today so I'm on dog duty. Hoping to get a few miles in at lunchtime.
A good training day. Ran/walked in to work. Ran with the lovely Slugs at lunchtime. Ashtanga Yoga at the office after work. Ran home. Only 8 miles running in total but progress. Absolutely MUST get some longer runs in though. Tricky next week though as we're playing out in Tuscany for a week. Mainly cycling but mini-triathlons round the pool in the evening. Yeehah!
